Taking a Look Under the Hood

hood.pngThe privilege of church planting is also a sacred trust. In the process of determining a match between a potential church planter and an area of service, it is important to assess one's capability of providing leadership, weathering life's storms, handling conflict, sharing vision, etc.

Toronto Church Planting requires that all prospective church planters undergo a thorough assessment process. These assessments are provided through Emerging Leadership Initiative. When you are ready to move ahead with assessment for consideration as a planter with Toronto Church Planting, click here for the first step. You'll be walked through the process one step at a time.

From the days of Socrates, it remains true: "First, know thyself." Your relationships, your work and others' reactions to you will all improve if you take the time to understand who you are and how you operate.

As essential as knowing yourself is, sharing that truth with at least one other person increases the effectiveness and benefit of that knowledge. That's why our church planters are paired in coaching relationships.

"The hope for the resuscitation of the church lies in the hands of its future leaders. We need thousands of churches with a come-as-you-are culture, following the Scriptures under the Spirit's guidance, formed out of the messy, unchurched culture of our postmodern context." (John Burke, No Perfect People Allowed)
